Add More Fruits & Veggies to Your Breakfast
Only 20% of Americans eat five or more daily servings of fruits and vegetables per day. Yet it is simple to add these vital nutrients to your meals. Try these busy-morning ideas that are so easy, the kits can help, too.
On cold winter mornings, try adding sliced banana, berries, prunes, raisins and other fruit to a bowl of hot oatmeal.
Mix berries, apples or bananas into pancake or waffle batter. Top with extra fruit.
Create a veggie omelet with onions, tomatoes, peppers or any other combo. Top the finished omelet with a bit of salsa.
Try an open-faced breakfast sandwich. Spread toasted bread with low-fat ricotta cheese. Top with fresh blueberries or sliced banana, melon or strawberries.
